Relaxing Weekend (well, sort of)

We were able to spend part of the weekend in Hot Springs -- and, the reason I didn't go all out and say it was a completely relaxing weekend is because it still seemed as though we were on the go all the time. Even if we don't have an agenda -- there is very little "sit and do nothing" time. Which is fine by me. Trev, on the other hand, likes a little R 'n R here and there. I have a few pictures of him attempting to take a nap. Darby Kate was running all over the place, and she decided she wanted her Daddy to be up. She kept saying "Dada, Dada, Dada". I guess Trev was playing possum. Anyway, she proceeded to "steal" the remote and took off into the kitchen. It was too cute. She later returned -- she was either doing a flag routine with the remote as the flag, or she was using it as a wand. Either way -- I got a big laugh!

We were able to spend some time on the water -- which was very nice. We swam with Babe and Poppy C. Darbs had some ups and downs on the boat -- but, for the most part, she does pretty well. She actually took a couple of naps laying on the floor of the boat, or lying down on the seat beside me (which hasn't happened until this weekend).

Trev and I ran in the Dam Nite Run in Arkadoo -- and it was soooooooooooo hot! Darbs hung out with Bebe and Pappa. She had a great night -- slept for over 12 hrs (what is your secret Bebe?)!

Another good report from the church nursery! Yes! Darby Kate let out a few shrill screams as her Daddy dropped her off at the nursery this morning -- but, they were short-lived. They told us that she did great and had fun playing with the other kiddos!

Borrowing Pepper's Bed

I was in the kitchen cooking supper, and Sugar decided to play in Pepper's bed. Some of these pics look as though I put her in there and had her pose -- but, this was all on her own! She was having so much fun -- I just let her waller around in there. Who woulda thought I would have let her roll around in a doggy bed!! Go figure!

Pep didn't seem too bothered by this. She just found her another comfy spot and did what she does best!

Weekend in Dallas

We traveled to Dallas this past weekend for some fun adventures! We had such a great time going out to eat, shopping, playing, and especially being there for M's special day on Sunday. Sugar and M were such troopers as we took them all over Dallas -- in and out of the car they went. A big thanks to the SIL for her wonderful hospitality. We really appreciate it! Hope we can come and visit again soon!

Sugar is into playing hide and seek.....where's Sugar?

there she is!
Hanging out with M

I'm not sure if she picked up this gang sign in Hope or Dallas?!?

A crazy goodbye to an exciting weekend!

Belle and Brady's 3rd Birthday Party

Belle and Brady Jr. had a "Barn Party"! We had a great time! They looked so cute in their little outfits (made by Bebe Baker).

It doesn't take Darbs long to find Brady -- she loves him to pieces!

She loves Belle, too!
Shara is so talented! She painted these barn animals to match the ones on their little outfits.

She also made this tractor cake. I, unfortunately have none of these talents.

Here is Big Papa in his favorite spot!

It was this time last year that we were just getting ready for Miss Darby Kate. It's crazy to even think that we didn't know if we were going to have a little Jodi or a little Trevor. Even though she's a little girl -- a lot of ya'll say we still had a little Trevor! She's such a joy, and we are so thankful each and everyday to have her in our lives. We are so glad to be close to family and have so many great friends in which to share our little joy!

DK and Mags

When these girls are together, they are like two peas in a pod! (or at least we try to get them that way!) We love to get them in matching/coordinating outfits. We figure we better take advantage of this time while we can -- they will soon be choosing their own outfits! (watch out Daddy)

Darby Kate likes to "pick on" Maggie already!
she likes to pat her.....

and sometimes pinch her! (I'm not sure if that's what she has done here, but it kinda looks that way!)

She's already a Razorback fan. We are practicing calling the Hogs!

Lucy's New Do (or Don't)

I'm having to backtrack a bit -- I had a lot of pictures from pre-party time that I wanted to post -- I just got ahead of myself. We took Lucy to get groomed -- and, I made the mistake of saying "summer cut". Poor thing. They only left her ear hair and tail hair. Her Daddy was in a state of shock when he saw her for the first time. I'm getting use to it by now -- in fact -- I kinda like it! (I also appreciated the pink and white polka dot bow -- she was ready for the party!)

More Party Pics

Here are some more pics from Darb's B-day party. For those of you who don't know -- she had a "Polka Dot" Party. The colors were Pink, white and black. (yes, those are blue dots on the birthday sign, but anyway....)

Although the cake didn't exactly look like I had planned -- it tasted pretty good!

Darb's had fun on the blow-up slide/bouncer! Thanks Jimmy and Carrie!

This Birthday outfit was made by her Bebe. It was too cute! She had a matching hair bow and bows for her add-a-bow sandals (but, she had already pulled them out at this point)

She had fun "opening" her gifts!

She loves her cousin, Brady!

Here she is enjoying cake...
dippin' dots

an oreo with pink polka dots! (her first chocolate)

And, believe it or not -- she slept through the night. Even with all the stress and craziness, we had a great time. Today was her official birthday, and I can't believe it. She is REALLY one!
