The Fair

Oh, what fun fair time brings! The parade and all the festivities --we made the most of it, too! We went to the parade yesterday -- we saw all the pretty "princesses" (pageant girls), the bands, firetrucks, horses and tractors! Elmo was there too! Darby Kate had a blast watching and waving to everyone that passed by. Jorgia pretty much slept through the whole thing - even the deafening sirens!!

After the parade, we ran home to fuel up Miss Jorgia -- then off to the fair. Darbs had ridden several of the rides last year without much reaction. This year..........she LOVED it!! You would have thought she was at least 5 :) She didn't seem to mind if Trevor and I were around or not. She would have hopped on those rides by herself had they not had the height requirement. She smiled and squealed with delight on each and every ride. I'm surprised we made it out of there without a temper tantrum, but we did.

Here are a few pics from the evening.............

Thanks, Babe for going with us!

T-rev watching the parade excitement

One MONTH!!

headed out for the first trip in the double stroller

ready for Gracie's party -- the Hogs were playing that night, too

Jorgia's first trip to Babe's house

Daddy and Darbs headed out to T-town (the pigtails didn't last long per report)
Thanks Bebe for the too cute shirt!

She doesn't look too happy about her birthday, huh?

I'm a little behind posting this due to -- once again -- technical difficulties. We had someone to clean up our hard drive -- so, hopefully -- it will speed things up! I can't believe Jorgia is already one month old. Time flies! Especially when you are living from one feeding time to the next -- it makes the day go by so quickly!
Everything has been going really well -- just watching this little one grow right before my eyes. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly they grow -- and, to think of the process -- it is just amazing and miraculous all in one!
Darby Kate is doing wonderful as well. She is so sweet -- just this morning she was telling Jorgia..."It's otay, it's otay, Jorgia. I wuvooo" - (I'm trying to spell it like it sounds when she says it, 'cuz it's soooooooooooooo sweet and cute) It brought tears to my eyes. Especially when I think about the first couple of weeks when we brought this new baby into our home. Darb's wasn't too much into telling her she loved her! She's also telling me "I wuvoo" (I love you) -- it makes my heart swell every time! She also says "I miss you, mama" -- and usually gives me a big, big hug! I love it! BUT, I have a feeling we are getting to the stage where it's going to be more and more difficult when we go on little trips here and there. She is definitely going to let us know about it!
Since my last post, I had my first night of putting the girls to bed by myself. A small feat to many, but one that caused great anxiety for myself. Jorgia usually has a high-maintenance period in the evenings, and I wasn't sure how that would effect Darby Kate's bedtime. Needless to say, it couldn't have gone more smoothly. I started the routine a little earlier than usual. I kept Jorgia in my arms up until time to put Darb's in bed. I put Jorgia in the swing -- hoping and praying that she would hang out there just long enough for me to put Darb's in the bed. And what do you know..........she did. Right when I walked out of DK's room -- Jorgia cranked up. I got her out of the swing and we did a little dancin' for a while. After I fed Jorgia, I wrapped her up -- tucked her in -- and had both girls down when Trev got home. Badda-bing!! Even though the next time I did it didn't go quite as smooth -- I got it done. Now I know it IS possible. It's funny -- before having two -- I really did not know how people did it. Putting more than one child to bed -- I couldn't imagine how there were times when BOTH kiddos were sleeping at one time. It does happen (thank goodness!)!!
What else have we been up to..........we went to Gracie's b-day party. Happy 6th b-day Gracie, girl! It was a lot of fun! Darby Kate had a blast! She took up with a couple of little girls, and they ran around everywhere. Little bit did well, too. Jorgia has gone to church now with us -- she was a perfect little angel! We've made trips to Texarkana, went to a Bobcat football game, AND she's had a couple of nights that she has officially slept all night!! What a joy -- we love our two little gals!!

Three Weeks!!

Week three.............things are changing rapidly for Miss Jorgia. She is growing like a little weed. Last Thursday was her two-week well visit. She weighed in at 8'5"!! What a little Miss Piggy!!
She has become much more insistent when it comes to letting us know she is ready to eat. She has found her little crying lungs. In the middle of the night -- there is no warning as to when she is about to cry.......she goes from zero to 60 in .2 seconds!! She knows how to get me on my feet! I jump up, and try and get there as fast as I can -- don't want two girls up instead of one!

Jorgia is doing great. BUT, I have a feeling she spoiled us a little those first couple of weeks. Last night she introduced me to "let's get up and party every couple of hours". Hopefully, it won't be a new habit of hers........but, I know she's growing........
Darby Kate has made big-time improvements. She still acts out every now and then -- depending on what time of day it is, and whether or not she got in a good nap. She is much more accepting of me holding and feeding Miss Jorgia. She loves to hold her, and pat her, and her favorite is to hold her up on her shoulder. It's really cute - but, you have to have your hands ready, because one peep from Jorgia and Darb's is ready to throw her back at ya!
Darby Kate has turned into quite the entertainer. She has been singing at the top of her lungs (not necessarily in words we understand) and just waltzes and dances all around. She loves to run. She is still into her babies. She loves to "watch a show" -- Diego is definitely number one, followed by Dora and "A Bee Movie". I think she would watch it 24-7 if I allowed it. This always makes me laugh seeing how I didn't "allow" her to watch much tv the first year of her life!!
Darb's is talking in sentences regularly. Something cute she said the other day: Trev was talking to her, and at the end said "Sorry, Charlie!", and Darby Kate said "It's Dahby!!" That cracked us up! She pulls on those heartstrings when she gets the chance. She is very headstrong -- about.....EVERYTHING!! Loves to pick her own fork, spoon, plate, bowl, cup......basically everything on that, too.
I did really terrible with my pictures for this week -- but, here are a few..........

Two Weeks!

Well, we've had another busy week here at the Coffee house! It's amazing how fast a day goes by when you plan from one feeding period to another! Darby Kate and Jorgia are doing great. Once again, I won't hide the fact that there are still times of major struggle -- Darbs still wants mama to do most things -- especially when I'm feeding Jorgia. BUT -- I'm seeing improvements everyday. Darby Kate is sweet towards her sister -- just a little on the rough side on occasion. I have to keep emphasizing how important it is that we are gentle with Jorgia. That she has a very tender spot on the top of her head. That we need to hold her feet NOT hands b/c her hands go into her mouth a lot. Just that kind of stuff. Bedtime for Darb's is still on a roller coaster. Some nights go more smoothly than others. We have had some good ones -- so I'm hoping things continue to go in that direction.

Mom and Dad kept Darby Kate for a couple of nights this past weekend. I felt like I was sending her away to boarding school when she left. She was happy as could be, and I was about to boo hoo. Needless to say, she was fine. And the time we had with Miss Jorgia was really nice. Trev was a tremendous help. We even all watched her first Razorback game together. She wore a pink Razorback onesie with matching pink razorback socks!

I received great reports on Darby Kate's behavior while she was visiting Bebe and Pappa. It amazes me how they flip those switches on and off depending on their whereabouts. She had a fun time going to play with her cousins in Shady Grove. They always have a wonderful time! We were very excited to see on her on Sunday morning -- she is such a beautiful and sweet little girl. I know this is a tough time for her.

We have had several outings this past week. For the most part, Jorgia stays in the car with one of us, but it was still nice to get out and about. We had a trip to Texarkana, several trips to the new house, Jorgia met Linda Lee for the first time, AND she had her first photo session in Hot Springs (I can't wait to see the pics!!!). We stopped by the condo, too -- so she saw the condo for the first time!

Here are a few shots from the week!!!

DK laid out taking a siesta

Pepper decided to join her -- she didn't even wake her up!

Jorgia seems to like the swing a little better than Darb's did -- yeah!!
